5 Fun Ways to Enjoy Honolulu, Hawaii
One of the most popular sites would have to be none other than Hawaii. Aside from being most prominent as President Obama’s birthplace, I’ve come to appreciate the many enjoyable sights during my trip. I thought I’d share some suggestions of this scenic Island for all you wanderlusts out there!
1. Honolulu Zoo
First stop in Hawaii was of course the Honolulu Zoo! This was a must for our list of sightseeing although it was blazing hot that day, no regrets! The monkeys and turtles were adorable. One surprise was watching the peacocks run free around the zoo, interesting.
Location: 151 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815
2. Waikiki Farmer’s Market
During my stay at the Hyatt right on the Waikiki Beach strip included a full Farmers Market open every Tuesday and Thursday. This place is open to the public and gives you a great taste of Hawaiian culture from the locals.
Location: 2424 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, 96815-3289

3. Chief’s Luau – Sea Life Park Hawaii
Good thing I decided to stop by Hyatt’s Travel Booth or else I wouldn’t have come across this amazing experience! I had the best time here and couldn’t have enjoyed a better first Luau experience. They greet you with a beautiful fresh flower lei upon your arrival and provide traditional Hawaiian meals throughout the show.
Location: Sea Life Park, 41-202 Kalanianaole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795
4. Dole Plantation
This place is a huge playground for both kids and adults, a great place to visit for families or groups of friends. Their Dole Whip dessert is an absolute MUST! It’s similar to a frozen yogurt-like dessert except BETTER! Additionally, the Dole Plantation Garden Maze is not something you want to miss while you’re there.
Location: 64-1550 Kamehameha Hwy, Wahiawa, HI 96786
5. Poke Restaurants
Poké is a popular Hawaiian dish/appetizer consisting of sliced cubes of raw fish, generally Ahi (Tuna) or Salmon. I personally preferred the salmon although Ahi (Tuna) is usually the more popular choice. Nonetheless, another must try. Poké is found in most restaurants or deli shops around the strip, I could not get enough of this stuff!
